The 18th annual Ha!ifax ComedyFest announces superb line up for event, April 24-27 in Halifax

(Halifax, NS) – Celebrating its 18th year, the 2013 Ha!ifax ComedyFest presents 28 top Canadian and international comedians from Wednesday, April 24 to Saturday, April 27 in Halifax.

The line-up includes hot comic headliners, Scott Thompson (Kids in the Hall), Caroline Rhea (Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Caroline Rhea Show), Brent Butt (Corner Gas and Hiccups), Bob Marley, Nikki Payne, Mark Critch, John Wing and Debra DiGiovanni.

Other fantastic comedians performing include, Bryan Hatt, Charlie Demers, Darrin Rose, Eddie Della Siepe, Erica Sigurdson, Graham Chittenden, Graham Kay, Jeff Elliott, JJ Whitehead  John Sheehan, Karen O’Keefe, Lachlan Patterson, Patrick Haye, Peter Anthony, Phil Hanley, Rob Pue, Tony Krolo, Dana Alexander and Darren Frost.

The Opening Gala, hosted by John Wing, will feature for ‘one night only’, returning festival favourite, Bob Marley on Wednesday, April 24 at Casino Nova Scotia’s Schooner Room. The All Star Gala, hosted by Caroline Rhea, will feature for ‘one night only’ Rhea along with Scott Thompson on Thursday, April 25 at Casino Nova Scotia’s Schooner Room. Tickets for both shows are $45 for VIP seating and $38 for regular seating (including tax, plus surcharge). Both shows start at 7:30 p.m. and are restricted to ages 19 and over.

The Gala of Laughs, hosted by Mark Critch, will take place on Friday, April 26 at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium and will feature ‘for one night only’ beloved Canadian comic, Brent Butt. The Gala of Laughs Finale, also hosted by Critch, will take place on Saturday, April 27 at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium. Tickets for both shows are $39 (including tax, plus surcharge) and start at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for LMAO, presented by Admiral Insurance on Thursday, April 25 at the Seahorse Tavern, are $20 (including tax, plus surcharge). The show starts at 8 p.m. and admission is restricted to ages 19 and over. Seahorse Tavern, Argyle St.

Tickets for the Pub Comedy double feature on Saturday, April 27 at the Lower Deck, Historic Properties are $20 each (including tax, plus surcharge). Show times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and admission is restricted to ages 19 and over.

The Not Made For TV shows at Yuk Yuks Comedy Club at the Westin Nova Scotia Hotel, which take place twice a night from Thursday, April 25 – Saturday, April 27 are $20 (including tax). Show times are 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. and admission is restricted to ages 19 and over.

The Ha!ifax ComedyFest is a joint venture between Pilot Light Productions, CBC, Premiere Entertainment Group (PEG) and the Halifax Comedy Festival Society.  The event competes with the best comedy festivals in the world and is one of three comedy festivals broadcast nationally during prime time hours on CBC Television.  The television series has garnered nine Gemini Award nominations since 2001, including three in 2011.
