2008 CLIPPER ROUND THE WORLD YACHT RACE

Halifax is one of 14 ports of call around the world for 10 yachts on this around-the-world race. The gruelling challenge began last September in Liverpool, England, ending back there in early July. After leaving Nova Scotia, the racers embark on the final transatlantic leg.

The D-shaped oval and wide, fast track make this one of Atlantic Canada’s most exciting auto-racing venues. Hosts a variety of motor-sport events throughout the season. Scheduled events: June 6, 7, 13, 20, 27. Exit 6, off Hwy. 102 (across from the Halifax international airport), Enfield.
